Preparing For the Employer Call

You have completed your cover letter and resume, conducted an internship or job search, distributed your resume to employers, and have found an interesting opportunity.  There is one more step to the employment process. Preparing for the interview.  If the employer feels that you are possible candidate for the position, you will be contacted via telephone or email to schedule an interview.

THE PHONE CALL

1. Know your schedule. Be prepared with a date and time you would be available for an interview

2. If you live at home, notify family members that you are waiting for a company call

3. When the call arrives, write down the name of the person you spoke to and their contact information

4. Confirm who you are meeting and their title  at the company

5. Confirm the date and time of the intended interview

6. Confirm the location of the interview

7. Ask for an email address of the contact to confirm the meeting
