Interview Questions: What you should ask the interviewer.

The employer will have a set of questions prepared for you. Once the employer has completed  the  common points of strengths, weaknesses and goals they might ask if you have any questions. Be prepared with a list of questions for your own.

TIP: Do not criticize yourself, your abilities, previous employers or co-workers. Clarity is key when asking your questions.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Could you describe some of the internship duties and projects?

• Who is the internship supervisor?

• Is an orientation provided by the supervisor?

What are some of your expectations of the interns?

How many days and hours are expected during the semester?

What are some of the qualities that you look for in a student intern?

Which qualities do you feel are most important to succeed in the program?

How long has the internship program been in existence?

• Can the internship extend beyond a single semester?

• Is the internship available to only college students? Could I continue in the program even after I
  graduate?

Did you work as an intern for the company?

You do not have to ask all of these questions in one sitting. Don’t forget that the employer might be interviewing several other candidates after you leave. Be flexible and use your best judgment in regards to time. If the employer seems comfortable and open to more questions then proceed with your list.
