Q. What is USAINTERN, LLC?
A. USAINTERN, LLC maintains online internship websites created and tailored for each state.
Colleges students may search for local educational programs- internships, externships, co-op and volunteer programs- in over 80 different career categories.
Our unique approach allows students and employers to connect with one another to create local partnerships within their communities.


Q. How do the websites work?
A. Employers have the availability to post unlimited internship programs FREE of charge. They may view any resumes attached to their internship programs for free providing a seamless connection with candidates.

Students may search the internship database for local and statewide opportunities in over 80 different career categories FREE of charge. Credit and non credit programs for both paid and unpaid opportunities are available. Students have the opportunity to create a user profile and upload a resume into the database for faster more effective searches.


Q. How long do internship postings remain in the database?
A. All opportunities will be posted for one year; unless it is still available. The USAINTERN, LLC team frequently follows up with employers regarding internship posting statuses.

Some employers offer continuous opportunities. These are offered every semester throughout the year. Other employers may specify a start and end dates. The internship type will automatically be purged from the website on the designated end date.


Q. How long do student resumes remain in the database?
A. Resumes remain in the database for up to one year. This allows the students to apply to internships in multiple semesters.

Students are notified via email regarding their resume status and may update the saved resume or students can remove it from the system. If the student takes no action following the one year, it will be automatically removed from the database.


Q. Do you work with international students?
A. International students may utilize the services of USAINTERN, LLC the same as any national student.

It is best for international students to contact the company directly and inquire about international programs.

Q. How many program postings am I allowed?
A. You may post an unlimited amount of opportunities and opportunity types. I.e.- internships, externships, co-op and volunteer programs.


Q. How long does my internship posting last in the database?
A. Employers may specify a start and end date or choose a continuous internship. Continuous internships do not have a start and end date. They provide a general semester description such as: Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter. Employers may manually remove these programs at any time.


Q. Does it cost anything to post an internship?
A. You may post an unlimited amount of opportunities FREE of charge.

Optional upgrades are available to employers who need assistance in creating a new internships and promoting internships to local colleges. USAIntern.com provides recruiting and screening services that can save time in connecting with an intern or new full time hire.


Q. How are you different from Craigslist, MonsterTrak and Careerbuilder?
A. USAINTERN, LLC maintains internship websites created and tailored for each United State. Our unique approach allows you to connect with students seeking experiences within their respective states. You also have the opportunity to connect with local colleges

USAINTERN, LLC's websites further differ from similar websites because applicant resumes are organized by location, department, candidate, and date.


Q. Is there a fee if I choose an intern or hire an intern for a full time position?
A. No. There are no additional fees for hiring a candidate as an intern or employee through our service.


Q. Will my company contact information be visible to the general public?
A. Only students who have purchased a Premium membership account are available to see your contact information; general account holders can not.


Q. What must I do if a student request college credit for the opportunity?
A. Offering credit is up to your discretion. However, if you do decide to offer this option the student must present necessary documentation. Students may obtain paperwork from their academic advisor or career center. Every school's paperwork varies; but you can expect to fill out the same information: company information, student hours working, list of duties, and supervisor information. Signatures of the supervisor, student, and academic advisor are also required. The student will submit the documents to their school.
At the end of the internship, the student may require you forward a letter reporting the satisfactory of their work to the student advisor. Check on any other credit option requirements.

Remember to maintain a copy of the paperwork for your records.


Q. Can I post a job on the website?
A. No. USAINTERN, LLC does not allow employment postings. The websites are dedicated to internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates.

Q. Who can see my resume?
A. Employers may view any applicants resume who has applied to their offering. Only premium employers, who have paid a fee, may review the complete resume database.

Students do not have the availability to view other student resumes.


Q. How do I know if an internship position has been filled?
A. Premium account holders may obtain employer contact information and inquire about the opportunity status directly.

Employers do not always remove internship postings once filled.


Q. Why should I upgrade my account?
A. The Premium Membership account provides unlimited access to employer contact information: contact person, email, telephone number and email address.
This feature also doubles the visibility of your resume when applying to an opportunity because it will be viewable in the employers account and immediately emailed. The one time fee is only $9.95.

Premium students also have the availability to utilize the Cell Phone Text Alert system. Employers may send an automated text message requesting an internship interview.


Q. Do you offer any services that can help me with resume writing or interviewing?
A. Yes. USAINTERN, LLC features several articles and examples of resumes and cover letters for student review. It also provides interview tips and job hunting suggestions.

These can be located on the Usaintern.com homepage under the "Students" tab. Click on "Advice Center for Students".


Q. Where does my resume go when I attach it to an internship?
A. The resume is immediately viewable in the employer account page.


Q. Can I attach a cover letter?
A. Yes. You have the option to create and store several cover letters to tailor your resume per opportunity.

Q. Can I tailor my resume for individual companies?
A. Students may only upload ONE resume into the database. For tailoring purposes, multiple cover letters may be created and attached per opportunity.


Q. Can I use USAintern.com after I graduate?
A. YES, graduates may use the website to connect with local employers for non credit internships or employment opportunities. The database consists of thousands of employers. Many of these employers are human resource managers and supervisors who also review resumes for employment. Students may connect with these leads while in school and upon graduation.


Q. How do I decide which membership I want?
A. Deciding on the membership that best suits you depends on what you actually need. If you just want to attach your resume to employer accounts based upon the internship description and wait for the employer to contact you, a basic account would be best for you. However, if you want to take further action, it is recommended that you upgrade. If you are looking to contact an employer directly, a premium membership would be best. If you need help with your resume, looking for assistance searching for internships, and want to stand out-a priority membership is best for you.


Q. If I sign up as a basic member, can I upgrade later?
A. Yes, you can upgrade at any time directly from your student account page.


Q. Am I guaranteed an internship if I upgrade to a Premium or Priority account?
A. USA Intern, LLC is not a placement service and does not offer guarantee’s with placement, however we do offer services to employers in assisting them to find candidates for their internships. The Premium and Priority student services help with resume reviews, connecting with internships and applying appropriately.


Q. How long does my membership last?
A. Membership lasts one (1) year from the original date that you registered.


Q. If I sign up as a Premium, but decide to upgrade to a priority, how much will my upgrade cost?
A. Upgrading from a premium account member to a priority account member will only cost an additional $5. We encourage students to upgrade to priority so they can take advantage of all of the great services we offer!


Q. If I cancel my membership early will I be refunded?
A. Full refunds are provided within 3 days of purchase. Refunds will not be provided after that designated time.


Q. How many resumes can I upload?
A. Basic Users can only upload one (1) resume to their account. If you apply to one internship and then change your resume to tailor it to another internship, those changes will appear in both internship applications. If you want to upload more than one (1) resume and cover letter, we recommend students to upgrade to a premium or priority account. With a premium or priority account, students can upload as many versions of their resume and cover letter as they want.


Q. Why do you charge students?
A. USAIntern offers a variety of features and services to students. The majority of everything you see on our website is free, such as our basic account membership, as well as articles and resources, interview tips, company interviews, etc… Premium and Priority services require a fee due to the detail and attention we pay to the information and to each student. Additional services such as resume reviews, resume rewrites, interview consulting, and personalized searches for students who are struggling in their internship search are available at a low annual price.


Q. Will my credit card be charged automatically again in a year?
A. No, USAIntern does not automatically charge your card at the end of the annual membership. Students will be notified via email and given the option to continue their account. If the student decides to not reapply, the account will be closed.


Q. How long does it take to hear back from an employer?
A. Every company is different. Some organizations will get back to you in a matter of days, while other employers may take a few months. Do not let this discourage you, as it is normal for employers to take some time to respond to students. If you want to hear back from an employer right away, we recommend you upgrading to our premium or priority membership in order to contact the employer directly yourself.


Q. What do you recommend if I don’t hear back from an employer?
A. Sending a follow up email, letter, or phone call allows you to keep in touch with the employer and see where they stand in the hiring process.


Q. If I purchase the resume review, how long will it take for me to get it back?
A. Our goal is to provide same day service. Resumes are reviewed in the order that they are received. Resume reviews are completed during standard business hours (Monday-Friday). If a resume is received over a weekend, it will be reviewed on the following Monday. Students will be notified if the resume is not reviewed and returned within 24 hours.


Q. I already had my resume reviewed. Do I have to submit it again as apart of your upgrade?
A. Submitting your resume is an optional service. Our team is available to review your resume at your request.


Q. Do I still have to pay the full premium, or priority price, if I don’t have my resume reviewed?
A. Yes. The premium and priority services incorporate multiple services and cannot be tailored per situation.
